2013 Security Dealer & Integrator Magazine’s FAST 50 Ranking

Compass Tech Systems, Inc has been recognized by Security Dealer & Integrator Magazine as one of the nation’s fastest growing security integrator's in their annual Fast 50 Systems Integrator ranking. This is an exclusive ranking of the fastest growing security systems integrator's in America.  The rankings are calculated in three categories: Overall Growth, Percentage of Growth and Dollar Growth.

Compass Tech Systems is ranked 18th in Overall Growth nationally, 2nd in Percentage of Growth nationally and 2nd and 1st in the respective categories in the State of Florida! This list is considered a benchmark by which security systems integrator's growth and achievement is measured.

Compass Tech Systems has experienced a tremendous amount of growth since starting in June of 2011 and the youngest to be listed on the FAST 50. This is an incredible achievement for a company based in a relatively small market, during economic unrest, government cutbacks and spending freezes. Considering Compass Techs Systems focuses on servicing government facilities; from local Utility Companies, Ports, Military Bases and US Customs and Border Protection, this is quite an accomplishment considering the financial challenges.

Dave Sims, Compass Tech Systems VP said, “It’s a great honor to be included on such a prestigious list. To be ranked so highly, after being in business less than two years is a testament to our employee’s dedication and customer loyalty.  This clearly shows CST has become a dominant security integrator in our market and our company will continue to expand as the economy improves.”

Compass Tech Systems is a full service security integrator providing cutting edge products, unmatched service and customer support.  For more information on Compass Tech Systems services please visit our website at  www.compasstechsys.com or Call 1-855-RU-COMPASS to speak with a security expert.

Anheuser-Busch “Sixth Annual Charity Golf Invitational”

A great time was had by all in support of the "Bobby Padgett Cancer Foundation" (supporting employees on leave as they undergo treatment) and "The United Way" at Windsor Parke Golf Club on Saturday October 13th! CTS sponsored the $5,000 Putting Contest which resulted in seven finalists and an amazing three hole in one putts during the preliminary round. My golf partner Ken Wilkey (Anheuser Busch EHS & S Manager) sunk an amazing putt to advance to the finals, Compass Tech Systems pointed him in the right direction! Unfortunately none to the finalist were able to sink their putts in the finale.

Compass Tech Systems In SDM Magazine

Compass Tech Systems received national exposure in the June issue of the security industries leading publication SDM (Security Distributing and Marketing) magazine. The article (starting on page 68) covers the evolution of technologies used for perimeter detection.
Most of the security industry is still relying on copper or fiber cabling with detection modules attached to fencing. Some of the copper based systems use weather stations to reduce false alarms. For instance the windmill picks up an increase in air flow and compensates for the fence movement. This can result in the reduction of false alarms, but it also can add to the vulnerability of the protection system. The fiber systems rely on wave lengths and the tolerance can be adjusted for differing environmental challenges. As you can imagine, both of these systems can present challenges both in installing and maintaining.
While CTS has successfully used these methods, we much prefer the use of megapixel cameras and video analytics. The main advantage to Video Management Based system is the reduction of false alarms, detection devices being on the ‘interior’ of the protected area and the flexibility of the system. Instead of detecting just movement we can adjust our VMS system to pick up the size of the object moving. If an object of a predetermined size, such as a man enters the protected zone the system will alarm. This eliminates a raccoon climbing over the fence at 3:00AM and receiving a call to go out and make sure your site is secure.

CTS AWARDED JAXPORT TWIC PROJECT

Compass Tech Systems, Inc. was awarded the TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) Access Control Upgrade for APM Terminals at the JAXPORT Blount Island Marine Terminal. The project will cover the Pre-Gates, Interchange Gates, Facility and integrate with the existing Terminal Operating System software. The award was based on a point system and won based on the TWIC expertise of the Compass Tech System staff.
This will be the first TWIC system installed at JAXPORT and will run on an AMAG access control platform. The system will integrate and update automatically with the government blacklist to prevent unauthorized drivers and personnel from entering the facility. The read stations will be a combination of TWIC card and biometric verification, insuring the card being presented belongs to the card holder.
This is an exciting, leading edge technology project that will not only increase the security of APM Terminals, but increase the speed in which vehicles can enter and exit the facility. This will be accomplished with the AMAG system communicating with the current APM Terminal software to cut down on authentication time.  Compass Tech Systems is proud to be a part of protecting our nation’s ports and honored to be entrusted with the APM Terminals project!

Compass Tech Video Analytics Lunch and Learn

CTS will be hosting the Video Analytics Lunch and Learn on Thursday, March 8, 2012 from 11:30 AM – 1:00PM.
The event is being held at Maggiano’s Little Italy at the St. John’s Town Center.

Our guest speaker will be the Vice President of Arteco IVS, Steve Birkmeier. Mr. Birkmeier is responsible for building the U.S. Sales Division of Arteco Intelligent Video Solutions as well as building OEM relationships. With his experience he brings a diverse range of knowledge on camera and recording technologies as well as where the industry is heading.
Mr. Birkmeier will be speaking on the implementation of Megapixel Cameras and Video Analytics technology and the affect it’s having on successful prevention of criminal activity and aiding in the apprehension of suspects. In today’s uncertain economic times, crime on the rise and security budgets being cut, he will give examples on how these systems reduce security costs while providing superior surveillance capabilities. This should be an excellent presentation regardless of participant’s technical knowledge.
This is one event not to be missed! Seating is very limited, if you’re interested in joining us please respond by February 22nd. You can RSVP by contacting Stephanie Evans at sevans@compasstechsys.com or by calling 904-253-7960

Compass Tech Systems To Host Video Analytics Lunch and Learn

Compass Tech Systems is coordinating a Lunch and Learn for the latter part of February or early March. The program will consist of a brief overview of Compass Tech Systems, our areas of expertise, markets we currently serve and solutions that most other security companies are not capable of providing.

Our guest speaker will be discussing and demonstrating Video Analytics solutions for a variety of markets and environments. The message will be focused on preventing and stopping crimes as they happen, rather than merely archiving events which could result in substantial loss of property or life. With the current economic condition showing little improvement; crime will continue to be an issue and potentially on the rise. With the use of Video Management Systems that incorporate Video Analytics and Megapixel IP Cameras, we can offer solutions that are far superior to analog cameras and DVR’s while remaining surprisingly cost effective.

This will be a very informative and entertaining event! Stay tuned for the announcement of the date and time!!!
